pink roses at Christmas

Salutations Cottage Fix friends! How’s the decorating, shopping, baking, and Christmas shenanigans going at your place. We’re moving right along here. Give me just one more afternoon in the shops and my list will be completely checked off. I’d also like to bake a few holiday treats if this cold I’m fighting ever clears. Why in the world I get a cold at Christmastime each and every year is beyond me. I’m trying to stay peachy bright in spite though. My […]

Christmastime at cottage fix

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays Cottage Fix friends! I kept our little cottage simple and sweet this year, and a tad on the traditional side too. I used fresh greenery, white twinkle lights, and shots of red to create a traditional cottage style Christmas. The mantle is done up with fresh pine garland, pine cones, and white twinkle lights. To add a bit of red, I tied red velvet around plain white candles. I used the extra tree trunk as candle […]

Cottage Fix Christmas greenery and garlands

Salutations! Cottage Fix is doused in fresh greenery and garlands and it feels like Christmas at last. It’s funny, each year as the holiday season begins I worry that I don’t feel very Christmasy. we went down hard

Well Cottage Fix friends, my daughter and I went down and we went down hard. I thought it might be the stress and business of the season, but really I knew it was just a bad case of the cooties! We both got a big ole dose of that nasty flu bug that is hitting our country hard this season. This will be my second Christmas in a row stuck on the sofa missing out on some of the festivities. […]

“The Christmas Waltz”

Frosted window panes, candles gleaming inside Painted candy canes on the tree Santa’s on his way, he’s filled his sleigh with things Things for you and for me It’s that time of year when the world falls in love Every song you hear seems to say “Merry Christmas” “May your New Year dreams come true” And this song of mine in three-quarter time Wishes you and yours the same thing, too “The Christmas Waltz” was written by Sammy Cahn […]

fresh pine and more cottage Christmas

Salutations from the little Christmas cottage on the East Coast that’s soaking in the Christmas magic and maybe running around a little like a chicken with it’s head cut off! Ya know they really do that. My mom has a story or two about my great grandmother and her farm and chickens and you see where this is going. The cottage is all decked out. I like to keep things fairly simple and the kiddos like to put out every […]
