Christmastime 2025 at Cottage Fix is filled with multi-colored twinkle lights, vintage baubles, and blush velvet ribbons. I switched over to a faux tree a few years ago which I have dubbed my grandma tree. Growing up my grandparents on both sides put up small faux tabletop trees with colorful lights. So I call this little cutie my grandma tree and I’m not sure if there’s any going back! It’s easy to put up and down and best of all I don’t have to worry about watering.

On our front stoop I strung together magnolia branches and twinkle lights for a touch of Christmas whimsy. Our pumpkin is still hanging on!

Our Christmas mantel is adorned with blush velvet ribbon and faux pine garland. Basically if it’s green and inside it’s faux!

And I decked out our stairwell with more blush velvet ribbon and faux pine garland.

My crew really prefers to have the same meals and desserts year after year over the holidays, but I thought I’d try a couple new desserts this year. I baked this French apple tart and assembled a limoncello and blueberry trifle out of a pound cake that flopped out of the pan. Both were a hit!

Did I mention I have a thing for moons, stars, and celestial events in general? This year our dining room is dressed up in my little moon collection, cranberry velvet ribbon, and dried flowers from our sparse winter garden.

We have a full house this year so I tried to add a little something festive to our guest rooms. Colorful ribbons do the trick!

Happy Holidays!
xoxo Sally
