shabby chic cottage and gardens

Good morning Cottage Fix friends! So I don’t know if you picked up on it or not, but I’m on a bit of a shabby chic kick (obsession) at the moment. There’s something about the soft color palette and feminine details that seem to work like magic in my quirky little cottage with the silly little family inside. And fresh cuttings from the garden brighten up a softer than soft look.I added more shabby chic goodness with a soft purple […]

cottage fix Friday flowers from that more than fabulous day!

Happy Friday! Yes, I’m still carrying on about that more than fabulous day. I really just want to savor it, ya know. These are the beautiful flowers my sweet Honey brought me last week. It’s been a full week and they look even better than when he first gave them to me, that’s one of the great things about carnations. He cracks me up. He always is sure to get long stems, baby’s breath, and what he calls the “green filler”. […]

shabby chic details and that more than fabulous day!

Salutations Cottage Fix Crew? How are things? I’m doing just peachy for the most part, but let me tell you about last Friday. All in all it started off good! I got my workout wrapped up first thing that morning, I took Paisley for a walk around the loop, and then headed out to tackle a list of chores—a list that included the fancy grocery store. cottage fix collecting and garden blooms

Why hello there Cottage Fix friends! Today I’m talking bottle collections and garden blooms. Nothing takes me to my happy place like a garden full of Spring color and the scent of a freshly cut lawn. And bottles and blooms together are pure eye candy I’d say. I started my bottle collection over this past winter, kicking it off with a variety of recycled soda bottles and jam jars. They look so sweet in a grouping on there own or […]

Spring Break at Douthat State Park

Hola Cottage Fix friends! This past week was the kiddos’ Spring Break and hubby was lucky enough to get some time off from work too. We planned a few days at Douthat State Park in the Allegheny Mountains in Virginia. The drive up I-64 was glorious with the red bud and dogwood trees both in full bloom. It was in the upper 70’s and we stopped for a picnic of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and chips along the way. We […]

a sweet little vintage mirror in the stairwell

Salutations! I’m blogging in today with a sweet little vintage mirror I hung in our stairwell. Its unique shape and etching detail makes it quite the looker. I was so nervous about this! Not the mirror exactly, but the hole I was about to hammer into my freshly painted plaster. Yikes! This pretty little mirror sat in the living room for a week or so taunting me until I finally got out the hammer and went for it. Yes, I […]

cottage fix Friday flowers

Happy Friday! I just love Fridays, with the hope and promise of a relaxing fun filled weekend ahead. Oh yes, on Fridays I’m still in denial about the jam packed weekend schedules that lie ahead, the chores that pile up, and the never ending to-do list that most likely won’t receive any check marks. It’s all “have another beer” and bliss! Friday is quite possibly my favorite day of the week. We have flowers, so many flowers! I bought my […]
