Sunday morning with Paisley

Miss Paisley and I had ourselves a fun little Sunday morning, and Honey too.  There’s nothing like a nice walk with Paisley, followed by a “I can barely make it” jog to jump start Sunday morning!  And then honey was off to do yard work while I scrubbed the cottage doors and worked a bit in the garden. I’m just finishing up now and I’m beat.

I generally like to stick to a cottage style garden with roses, herbs and daisies, all of the classic cottage style plants and flowers mix nicely with our evergreens.  The box woods, azaleas, hydrangeas, and English ivy all seem to get along nicely out there. Part of what drew us to this cottage style home was her back garden: boxwoods, blackberries, wisteria, and azaleas.  The garden is well established and what it lacks in seasonal color and perennial flowers, it makes up for with a well thought out design and several mature flowering trees.  We added the fencing and iron gate.

Salutations cottage fix friends!  I was doing a little blogging today and realized I had some leftover flower photos in my media library.  I think they’re so pretty that I didn’t have the heart to delete them, especially since they are no longer blooming in the back garden.  So I decided to share them with you instead.

Well,  it seems I’m still out here having fun in the garden.  It’s hard to stay inside when the sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, and the grass has turned green.  I’m out here just peter puttering around … a little weeding, a little fetch with Paisley, and a little table in the garden.  Miss Paisley and I seem to be stuck out here.  I plan to enjoy it while I can,  hot and sticky is waiting for us […]

sunny garden days — happy Friday

Umm… a week of sunny garden days can be a little rough on us allergy sufferers.  At this point our cottage is filled with flowers and teetering on the edge of smelling too sweet, if there is such a thing.  These flowering tree branches are by far the most fragrant of all.
