chippy paint cabinet

I’m afraid I might start sounding like a broken record, but here it goes. I have been recovering from the flu this week, again! The minute I started to get sick, I just couldn’t believe it. I swear I was only completely well from the first bout for roughly one full day before this second round of illness settled in. As much as I was looking forward to winter this year, I’m done. I couldn’t be more over it.

Anyways, I have this adorable chippy paint cabinet that’s keeping me company and giving me a lot of creative inspiration to mull over—from the sofa. The bathroom remodel is well underway and things are happening. So far it’s all behind the scenes stuff like duct work and electrical, but it’s chugging along nicely.

I’m picturing this cabinet in our new cottage bathroom filled with lotions and potions, soaps, and towels. This is the before state. After it gets—make that she, I’m pretty sure she’s a she—after she gets finished with her photo shoot, she’s heading out to the spa for botox, hair, and make up. Grin. I found this vintage charmer on the curbside so many years ago. We were actually living in our previous home and in the midst of a major remodel. So my mom took her in and dolled her up with a few different paint colors and hung her in the dining room for a while. She eventually found herself out in the garage awaiting her next role.

After a couple of new panes of glass, some molding, and paint, she is going to be the star of our new bathroom. I can’t believe how many old pieces honey is letting me get way with in our remodel! It’s getting exciting for sure!

I’m having a bit of fun with the lighting today. This is what happens when I’ve been sick too long!

The flu again…how can that be?? Ugh! Well you certainly have a charmer of a cabinet to help cheer you up. I’m loving the glass paned door on it. Perfect for a bathroom…or anywhere for that matter.

So sorry you’re sick again, Sally! At least you’ve rediscovered your chippy cupboard and can sit and dream about how wonderful it’s going to look in your bathroom when it’s done. One can never have too many old cupboards in their home and yours is a winner for sure! Take care and hopefully you’ll recover faster this time.

Oh Sally, the flu again !!!!!! How yucky !!!!!!
I think its time for the family to pamper you for awhile. Sure sounds like you deserve a little TLC.
As for that sweet cabinet,….she’s a beauty !!! I can visualize bath salts, french milled soaps, and fluffy towels being stored on the shelves. Again, I’m lusting.
    Hope you feel better soon,

Hi Sally! I’ve just discovered your blog from Wow Us Wednesday. I love your style and am excited to follow along as you finish your bathroom (looks so good already!) and whatever’s next 🙂 I’m working on a mini bathroom makeover myself and you’ve inspired me to write a post on the process rather than just waiting for the final reveal. Following you on bloglovin 🙂
