Salutations! Look who decided to help me change the sheets today—it’s Miss Paisley the miniature schnauzer. She does this every time I make the bed. Which is, of course, daily. Grin. “Hey guys, I like soft snugly bundles of fluffy stuff.” Yes, it’s true. As I’m writing this, it reminds me of one of my son’s childhood friends, a sweet little girl that lived in our apartment complex in California. They were in preschool together at the end of our […]
Well guys, that on and off rain I mentioned has settled here on the coast and we’re getting all day mist with heavier rain falling at times. It’s really lovely and serene. I enjoy rain in the warmer months, it’s so romantic. The gardens turn lush green, and if it’s hot enough, the steam wafts from the streets. This is what it must be like living in Seattle, I’m craving nothing but café mocha and chai. Paisley and I walked […]
Rise and shine! We’re up with the sun this morning to get an early start in the land of dusty floors and cottage dreams. I’m drowning in our bathroom remodel guys. Last I wrote, the cottage was being overtaken by our bath remodel tools and supplies. Little did I know, the clutter and junk would be settling in and multiplying. Holy cow this place is in complete chaos. I was planning on writing a post loaded with whining and moaning […]
Salutations! It’s nonstop rain here today on the East Coast, which I don’t mind. I like the odd rainy day as long as it’s sandwiched between several days of sunshine. I’m not sure why we correlate rain with romance, but it’s lovely. Doesn’t a cup of morning coffee seem to taste extra delightful when it’s raining out? Aah, a hot cup and a cozy knit throw on a soaker of a morning is pure bliss. Paisley on the other hand […]
Well, it seems I’m still out here having fun in the garden. It’s hard to stay inside when the sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, and the grass has turned green. I’m out here just peter puttering around … a little weeding, a little fetch with Paisley, and a little table in the garden. Miss Paisley and I seem to be stuck out here. I plan to enjoy it while I can, hot and sticky is waiting for us […]
The peonies are beginning to bloom in the garden so I finally have something other than red azalea to cut and bring in. The summer flowers are on the way. I’m so happy — peonies are my all time favorite! These are the first three peony blooms in bright pink with a pastel pink center.
Paisley and I had a little photo shoot today, and she can really strike a pose. Could the catwalk be next? She does seem to be wondering how she managed to end up on top of the chair, and without a pillow or blanket no less!
She’s here! The sweetest, dreamiest little bundle of fluff, and she is so charming. I hope she doesn’t mind being photographed because there’s no getting out of it around here. Meet Paisley, our 12 week old salt and pepper miniature schnauzer. She has made our home feel lighter in a way. She is soft, gentle, and sweet!
