Hello there! Thanks for popping over today to share in my latest obsession, my love of a white painted cottage. Give me light, bright and airy! Give me white! It’s not really a new obsession I suppose, but it’s one I try to put out of my mind for the fear I might actually take things to the next step and get out the paint brush. Ever since I painted the sun porch white, I’ve been completely over the moon happy with it and a little fixated on white spaces in general! I keep thinking about painting more rooms white. The funny thing about white is that it makes whatever color you put with it more colorful. The blues look bluer and the greens just greener, clearer! Love that! This is starting to sound like a laundry detergent commercial. Grin!
So today I’m sharing some new and old photos of the cottage doused in white. I cropped out those darker taupe walls and focused on showcasing the soft light moments of white. It’s a white painted cottage illusion I guess.
white on the sun porch — yes!

white flowers in the dining room
white lace on the windows
Sometimes I wish this is what it looked like in real life, but if you visit the cottage tour page you’ll see it’s a little, a lot, different. Lots of darker taupe walls and kitchen cupboards. We shall see.

Me too! LOVE white, and the soft airy feeling. Beautiful photos today, Sally!

Many say that white is such a cold and boring color. You prove that isn’t so.
I look at your pictures and see warm, cozy and inviting rooms where loved ones can relax and enjoy their surroundings.
Thank you Sally, for showing others (my hubby included) that white really is the perfect color.
Vanessa
Thanks for the awesome compliments Vanessa- the part about your hubby made me laugh! Mine has completely given in!

I love your whites! I have decorated with color for a long time so to change to white would be too overwhelming for me, although I would love to! I am repainting my kitchen white to refresh it (it was white) and I am loving the new white a lot!!
I love all of your white touches! As you know, I love white rooms, white furniture and white anything as well! The great thing about it though is it’s easy to obtain and easy to live with. So, if you’re wanting more white in your home, I’m sure you will be able to do it easily.
