Happy Holidays! I have been busy getting our Christmas up over the past couple of weeks. I always try to keep it simple, and I always try to reinvent the boxes of baubles and shimmer that I haul down from the attic. This year I splurged on some new cranberry velvet pillows for our living room sofa, which look right at home with the vintage baubles and twinkle lights. I’ve been displaying the golden garland of jingle bells for years, sometimes on the stairwell and sometimes on the mantel, like this year. I’m impatiently waiting for my college crew to get home to finish decorating our tree. Next week is the week!
I also added some white pillar and taper candles this year, nothing quite like the soft glow of candlelight. I clustered three pillar candles together and placed them on a vintage ironstone platter. And the tapers on the mantel are shining in mercury glass candlesticks.
My honey hung this piece of ironwork for me over our entry hutch. It’s an old iron door that was once part of a firescreen. I’d love to find another piece like this to hang next to our fireplace.
My mom gave me a bag of vintage blush colored baubles and I went ahead and hung those on our tree. I also nestled some around the candle centerpiece on the dining room table. Did you notice the mismatch chair in our dining room? One of our cross-back chairs bit the dust and I haven’t figured out what I’m doing in here yet. I pulled this vintage cutie up to my spot at the table until further notice.
Thank you for visiting!
xoxo Sally
