Happy fall! With the air getting cooler and the trees painting the sky a warm autumnal glow, fall is my favorite for sure. I love trekking through the trail with the sound of crunching leaves underfoot, popping a roast into the slow cooker, and winding down the day with a toasty fire and cup of hot cocoa. The hubby has been adding Bailey’s Irish Cream to his hot chocolate, which if you haven’t ever tried, is quite amazing!

The kiddos traveled home from college a couple weeks ago for fall break. It was a little too early for me to start the fall decorating, but I went ahead and bought a bunch of pumpkin pie pumpkins – and I put them everywhere! They lined the mantel, adorned the bathroom sinks, and made for an easy centerpiece on our dining table. I wanted it to look a bit festive for them while their home.
For these fall looks I added a bit of romance with fresh flowers, pine cones, and pears. I’ve been drawn to brighter, warm cheerful colors lately and I carried that into my fall decorating. Pale pink hydrangea and tiny coral spray roses mixed with pumpkins and pears make a simple, yet romantic mantle. And I carried that same look into our dining room creating a centerpiece with more hydrangea, a pumpkin, pine cones, and pears piled up in a dough bowl. Candlelight is always welcome in romantic fall decorating. And I went with what I always go with, little votive candles in silver mercury glass.
