Happy Holidays Cottage Fix crew! Well, we’re all decorated here and the Christmas train is chug chuggin’ along. I only have a few more things to check off my list until I’m chilling in the caboose with a glass of Pinot. I decided to just get things going this past week and spent an evening wrapping gifts with my She and Him Christmas album blaring in the background. I chose plain brown paper for wrapping and then went a little crazy picking out ribbon. Don’t you just love getting lost in the ribbon aisle!
It turned out to be quite the colorful Christmas here this year. I planned on sticking to silver, gold, and pink, but when it came time to decorate our tree the family decided to put all of our ornaments on. And since I’m just happy they still enjoy helping, it’s a rainbow of baubles this year— and a lot of them! Who am I to stifle anyone’s Christmas spirit? Grin.
I kept the mantel super simple with mercury glass and delicate silver garland. This is the garland I found at the annual neighborhood yard sales earlier in the year. Oh how I love a bargain! I had tucked it away and forgot about it so it was a nice surprise.
It feels like a colorful and homey sort of Christmas this year which is especially nice on days when the temperature plummets and the clouds roll in. It reminds me of Christmas with my grandparents when I was little. I have always been attracted to granny chic I suppose. Grin.xoxo Sally
Your tree looks beautiful and all the presents so pretty! Don’t you love when you discover something you’d forgotten you bought? Kyran calls that “hiding things from myself”:) He always laughs at how I’m able to completely forget something I’d bought.
I’m doing a big grocery shop today, then hitting the post office and then getting everything ready for my in-laws arrival on Sunday night:) Enjoy this last week before Christmas weekend my friend!!! HUGS!
Sally, I so enjoy visiting your quiet little corner of blogland. Your beautiful tree and simply wrapped presents are all that are needed to make your sun room festive and cozy. I love the delicate silver garland and mercury glass on your white brick fireplace! Enjoy sipping wine in front of your toasty warm fireplace!
“Granny chic” is a thing? Yea, I’m totally on trend, then, haha! I love your mantel, Sally, and the tree reminds me of the wonderful Christmases of my childhood. It’s gorgeous!
Have a good weekend!
Whew! I’m glad that I finally made it to the comment box. I’m having computer/internet problems and everything is slow, slow, slow. I love your pretty tree and vintage ornaments. I would type more but it is taking too long.
Your tree looks so festive and pretty with all of its colorful ornaments!
