Happy Weekend Cottage Fix Friends! I’m blogging in today with a vintage wicker rocking chair update and some cozy comfort on our sun porch. Do you remember that sweet little rocker I found this past summer at Class and Trash? The one that is incredibly tiny and in need of a seat cushion and a good scrub. I always seem to be bring home things that need to be cleaned — I wonder what that means?
So I brought her home, scrubbed her up good, and then went in search of a nice comfy seat cushion. I took off one weekday while the kiddos were at school and went in and out of 100 or so shops at lightning speed with one thing on my mind. I found one that I thought might work, but it was $50 and tufted and ivory. Not exactly the price tag or the color I was hoping for. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I kinda have a lot of ivory already on the sun porch. So I came home empty handed, pouted a bit, and then thought this thing through.
I want something super casual and comfy and not necessarily proper. Do you know what I mean? Just something real easy going and sort of higgily piggily. So I tried out a euro sham wearing a blue denim cover and finagled it in to place. It doesn’t exactly fit perfectly, but I like it!
It’s a pop of blue and easy going casual comfort on the sun porch. I like it even better than the one from the fancy store. I wonder if anyone will actually sit here?

Oh Sally, I’d sit there in a minute !!!
I adore old wicker and your cozy sun porch. Our 1921 cottage has a screened in side porch off the living room. Like you, I’ve used a lot of vintage wicker out there. At this time of year, it’s wonderful to sit and chitchat with hubby, sip a glass of wine and wave to neighbors walking by with their dogs. Numerous times we’ve invited the dog walkers to join us and then our porch becomes a gathering place, too.
Thank you for sharing your home with us, I can never get enough “peeks” inside and your photography is so great.
Vanessa
Hi Vanessa, Your screened in porch sounds like so much fun! Our sun porch is surrounded by trees and near the back of our house so if we want to see any friends walking by we have to sit on the front stoop! lol I’ve always wanted a screened in porch though. Have a good weekend!

I think your screened porch is wonderful and inviting! I’d love to come take your little wicker chair on a trial rock and test drive the pillow!
Love the chair and love the way you have staged it.
I am visiting from Chateau Chic – congrats on the win.
Hi Sally, you won the contest with books as the winner. I tried to enter my guess, but couldn’t figure out how to respond to her. How does one send a comment?

Hi Bev, I’m not sure what it could be. Were you logged in? I think you must be logged in through one of the accounts. I use my google account.

Beautiful rocker in such a beautiful sunroom!!!
I would sit on your charming comfy rocker with the beautiful view through your gorgeous windows for hours…especially if I had a good book in hand and cup of coffee. Your solution for a seat cushion is perfect, Sally.
I agree with Vanessa…your photography is always so beautiful!
