cottage living room painted ivory

That’s right… the living room is finally completely painted!  Whoo Hooo!!  This one was a doozy.  As much as I love our tall ceilings, about halfway through this paint job I found myself telling those ceilings where they could go!  You get the gist.  Yes, this is one of those rare occasions I am actually glad I don’t have a large great room with cathedral ceilings.  Can anyone say “painter?”  So now I can’t turn my head all the way to the left and I have a little bit of a shifty shoulder, but it is done.  Might I mention that it took two coats of paint, but I guess that’s what I get for choosing such a light shade to paint over dark taupe.  Now for the fun part!

What you can’t see of the living room is an upholstered chair that doesn’t quite go, holes in the walls where the sconces haven’t been put back, and a wall looking rather barren and in need of some love.  Work in progress!  I’m sure all you fellow decorators, do it yourselfers, and yard-salers understand.  Honestly, I’m just slow and indecisive.

end of summer blooms

I spotted a few more lingering summer blooms.  Love it!
