Good evening fine people of blogland! There’s nothing like two weeks of rain followed by a never ending coastal storm to put one in a very fine mood. I must admit I woke up this morning feeling oh so sorry for myself and blaming it on the weather man entirely. Then I flipped on the news only to see our two neighboring southern states got hit hard. Well now I just feel awful, the rain is nothing in comparison to the devastation happening down there. I will stop all my whining and send nothing but happy thoughts and well wishes to our friends down south.
And while I’m patiently waiting for the sun to join us again, I’d like to share my shabby chic fall centerpiece.
I love a low profile centerpiece that is easy to see and chat over, and candlelight is so nice in the fall months. I grouped my fully bloomed peach roses together with tea lights and pine cones. During these past few days of stormy weather a little something pretty at the table really perks up mealtime.
It’s just about suppertime here: grilled chops, sweet potatoes, and hot tea. Did you know it’s a requirement to drink hot tea through the entirety of a storm? Long hot baths are another must too, I’ll be heading there next.
xoxo Sally
Simple cottage fix beauty…… I am getting out my tin cans, you do this so well my dear.
Love how fall feels over here.

Love a candlelight centerpiece in the fall…especially a rainy fall! So nice to finally see the sun today.

So pretty. I prefer low center pieces too. Amen for tea to get you through the storms. I hope you get some sunshine and we get some rain. xo Kerrie
Your table is so pretty and romantic, gorgeous roses too!
I love the ambiance of the candles, Sally. You are getting a lot of cheer out of your pretty roses. I am also a bath-lover…nothing like a good soak to smooth the soul 🙂
What a pretty Fall arrangement! I like the contrast between the rustic pinecones and the roses.
