Today I spent the day cleaning like crazy and getting the house back in order after a long relaxing weekend. Ahh … it was a lovely weekend indeed. Just what I needed to get myself in gear for a project or two.
Well, it seems I’m still out here having fun in the garden. It’s hard to stay inside when the sun is shining, the flowers are blooming, and the grass has turned green. I’m out here just peter puttering around … a little weeding, a little fetch with Paisley, and a little table in the garden. Miss Paisley and I seem to be stuck out here. I plan to enjoy it while I can, hot and sticky is waiting for us […]
Umm… a week of sunny garden days can be a little rough on us allergy sufferers. At this point our cottage is filled with flowers and teetering on the edge of smelling too sweet, if there is such a thing. These flowering tree branches are by far the most fragrant of all.
I hope you have been enjoying this week of sunny garden days at cottage fix as much as I have. I really didn’t realize how much time I spend working in the garden until I started writing this blog. Salutations! Another beautiful day here, blogging in with day two of sunny garden days. Do you remember those delicate, sweet primroses from the toolbox centerpiece? The mountain mint is growing tall in the background, that stuff will take over when your not looking!
Salutations! Okay, I just can’t resist. We are headed into a week of absolutely gorgeous weather. I can’t stand it, it’s so beautiful outside. So I’m celebrating with a week of sunny garden days. It starts today and will run for the next three days featuring the garden and casual floral arrangements using blooms from the garden.
Salutations! Virginia has turned green — greener than green. This is the time of year all the plants start growing and turn our town into a lush, green beauty. The new ivy growth is vivid lime green lighting up our flower beds, and the birds are splashing around in the bath. It’s looking like Spring out there for sure. It’s been a hot week, but that’s okay.
The peonies are beginning to bloom in the garden so I finally have something other than red azalea to cut and bring in. The summer flowers are on the way. I’m so happy — peonies are my all time favorite! These are the first three peony blooms in bright pink with a pastel pink center.
