Christmas in July

Yes, it’s only July and I already have Christmas on my mind — fresh greenery, sparkling twinkle lights, and the smell of sweet confections wafting from the kitchen.  I thought it would be fun to revisit last years Christmas and gear up for some Christmas in July plans. I’ve already started thinking about Christmas decorating for this year, I just can’t seem to help myself.  I’m getting butterflies now just thinking about it!

Cottage Fix - Joy to the WorldFresh greens in the dining room really brighten up the space.  The fresh pine roping was a nice surprise from my dad, what a happy knock at the door that was.

Cottage Fix - fresh wreath of evergreen, rosemary, and lavenderI made this sweet little wreath using fresh greenery from our back garden to dress up the chippy paint shutters.

Cottage Fix - Oh Christmas Tree

The kiddos helped me decorate our Christmas tree and of course we used every last ornament we could find in the attic!

Cottage Fix - Sparkly pine cones in a mercury glass bowlI made this potpourri out of a combination of Christmas tree branches and pine cones to fill our living room with the scent of the holiday.

We’re having a little surprise Christmas in July for our kiddos tomorrow night. I’ve been just dieing to let the cat out of the bag.  Since we haven’t been able to travel much this Summer we thought it would be a fun treat for them.  And I never pass up an opportunity to bust out the twinkle lights.

xoxo Sally

It’s a little early for me to start thinking about Christmas. It is just so HOT here in the South but I really do need to start planning. I love Christmas and as soon as there is a slight chill in the air I will have those same butterflies!
